On Friday’s Mark Levin show, The Republican Establishment could be in deep trouble and is responsible for creating this convention quagmire. If a candidate doesn’t get 1,237 delegates after the first ballot, then the vote goes to the floor. The rules have been in place since the beginning of the Republican Party in the 1850’S. The only exception was when Mitt Romney changed rule 40 which was done to shut conservatives out of challenging Romney’s second term, should he have won the presidency. Romney is voting for Ted Cruz in Utah but he isn’t endorsing Cruz, he’s pushing for an open convention to deny anyone the nomination. The RNC rules are a mess and Romney and his establishment pals are to blame for changing the rule in 2012. Also, Donald Trump needs to take on Ted Cruz in a one on one debate. We have heard enough of his political tweets and want to hear something substantial. In addition, where was Trump during the rise of the Tea Party? He was not around then and all of a sudden he is a genius that has evolved in 18 months. Later, John Kasich likes to give Americans the impression that he is a regular guy. However, Americans should be concerned about his trigger temper and that he has no mathematical path to the Republican nomination.
