Levin: “Even before Donald Trump announced, my father, Jack; our daughter, Lauren, and my brother-in-law Joe were big Trump supporters. Joe is not with us anymore. Shortly before he passed away, I called Donald Trump. I called him and I spoke to his assistant I said is it possible to speak to the president? I was wondering if he would have a few words with my brother-in-law, Joe. Ten seconds later, Donald Trump was on the phone. I believe he came off the golf course and I put the phone up against Joe’s ear, and President Trump spoke to him lovingly, beautifully. Told him he loved him, told him to keep fighting that we need him. I believe Joe heard him. And I want you to understand that Donald Trump does this all the time and he means it all the time. You’re not a number to him. You’re not a mob, a mass of people to him. You’re a human being to him. He looks you in the eye. Every individual is special. I want you to know that. The fact that we almost lost this man is just shocking to me breaks my heart, and I know it does yours, too.”
