On Tuesday’s Mark Levin Show, Historically the media has hated successful Republican Presidents. Abraham Lincoln inherited a nation in crisis with the American public blaming him for the country being on the brink of civil war. Some in the media criticized Lincoln’s speeches including the Gettysburg address and went as far as calling him a gorilla. Yet, Lincoln won re-election despite being mocked. Many great presidents including the late great Ronald Reagan achieved success despite smears from critics in the media. Then, the Supreme Court has long been the topic of court-packing conversations amongst Democrats that have wanted to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court since the days of FDR. The activists in the streets are just the same as the activists in Congress, the only difference is that some dress up as senators. Chuck Schumer is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a suit because the Marxist wing of the Democrat Party has taken over. Progressives are adamant to dismantle the Constitution whether through repealing the filibuster, adding more justices to the court, or legislation that focuses on protecting the government rather than the people. Sadly, they are voting for the permanent dissolution of our Constitution. Later, Democrats are using the Constitution to destroy the Constitution. They don’t serve the people, they serve the Party. If Democrats become the majority they will take control of America and give power to whomever, however, they want. Afterward, Rep Chip Roy calls in to discuss how Nancy Pelosi wants to hurt small businesses and healthcare. Finally, John James calls in to discuss his campaign for the US Senate.

Rough transcript of Hour 1

Hour 1 Segment 1

I want to welcome you. The past few shows I have been leading the way with historic analogies and in the case of Donald Trump. Abraham Lincoln. We’ve done analogies of Abraham Lincoln. Haley was condemned in 1864. He was called names. They thought he was a loser within his own party. They thought he would lose re-election to the Battle of Atlanta. It certainly looked that way. But he did it. He won. In other horrible things that were said about Lincoln over time. But I thought I would go back and walking into these other things. But I thought I would go back. And talk to you about the first election of Abraham Lincoln. In 1860. There’s a great Web site called Knowledge, not dot com. Tell you, I do all kinds of deep research here. Abraham Lincoln was actually hated when president. When Lincoln took office in March 1861, he was entering a presidency. He had won with only thirty-nine point eight percent of the popular vote. Reactions from the public were so negative that on the eve of his inauguration, he had to be smuggled into the capital during the dead of night in a disguise. He was looked down upon for everything from his humble beginnings and lack of education to his awkward appearance in his high voice. Even the commanding general of his armies, George McClellan, called him the original gorilla. In 1861. Lincoln inherited a nation in crisis with the United States on the brink of civil war. The American public was on the edge and blamed Lincoln for everything going wrong in the country. Sound familiar? Well, of course, Southerners hated him for trying to change the way of life. They’d known for years, they resented him for trying to abolish slavery. And declared their secession from the union on February 4, 1861. But northerners weren’t fond of him either, unimpressed with his slow start at the presidency. They expected him to be doing more and to be doing it sooner. People even hated his speeches. The Gettysburg Address, now revered as one of the greatest speeches of all time and memorized by schoolchildren across the nation, was panned by many. One Chicago Times writer said the cheek of every American must tinged with the shame as he reads the silly flat dishwater utterances of a man who has to be pointed out to intelligent foreigners as the president of the United States. Lincoln’s wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, said the constant deluge of insults were on the president’s feelings. Lincoln himself reportedly said I’d rather be dead than as president that’s abused in the house of my friends. But he refused to take his criticisms too much to heart. Lincoln went on to win the re-election in 1864. He led the North to victory when General Robert E. Lee surrendered and ended the Civil War on April 9, 1865. And of course, he was tragically assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Six days later. Lincoln outside his supporters, of course, during his presidency. His death was mourned by millions. But it wasn’t until his assassination. That he had a true surge of popularity, sending him to the beloved status he has today. It was only then, as Edwin Stanton would say, he was relinquished to the ages. Because we sit back and we think while Lincoln, who would have criticized Lincoln, Lincoln was abused and mocked. From the moment he stepped into the presidency. Right up to the point of the battle of Atlanta. Then he won his re-election and even then he was mocked. They’re great presidents who have always been marked. I want to present to you another one. We’ve put together a montage thanks to our friends at News Busters and MRC some time back, but I went back and look. Have how the liberal media savaged Ronald Reagan. Over the years in his presidency, but particularly in 2004. Not 2004. While they say in 2004 here, I don’t think it was 2004, but it was put together and I want you to listen to this. Cut 19, go at the end of his presidency. Great, many people believed he’d made the wealthy wealthier and had not improved life, particularly for the middle class. I used to say I thought if you were down on your luck and you got through the Secret Service guy in the Oval Office and Mr. President, I’m down on my luck, he would literally give you the shirt off his back and then he’d sit down in his other shirt and he signed legislation throwing your kids off school lunch program, maybe your parent’s house, Social Security and of course, the welfare queen off of welfare. The most serious crisis of Ronald Reagan’s two terms and the lowest point of his popularity came after the revelation that his administration had secretly sold arms to Iran and turned over the profits to rebels fighting the Marxist government of Nicaragua. The fallout was severe, softened only by the president’s willingness to accept personal responsibility. But U.S. efforts to deal with the tough issues in the Middle East went on hold, helping to set the stage for the first Iraq war and the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. The Reagan presidency also saw the advent of the Shout and Hope news conference. Reporters often drowned out by the din of a helicopter trying to get the president to answer questions on the fly since he didn’t hold many news conferences. There was the Iran contra affair, the near tripling of the national debt. The fact that thirty kind of 30 of his administration staffers would serve time in jail for bribery, corruption and influence peddling. Can you tell Thelma and I. Clearly, this is an unscientific. But if the crowds really look like America, are they ethnically diverse African-Americans, Hispanic Americans? Or is it largely white? There were some fairly contentious issues and he was a fairly controversial president. More or less overlooked much of that over the past week. But I suspect as his friends and supporters try to raise him to the very heights there and perhaps find a place for him on Mount Rushmore with some of the controversy and some of the debate will come back, no doubt about it. Well, actually, it was. The president died. President Reagan, June 5, 2004, and shortly thereafter, this is the kind of reviews and many media newsrooms that he received. Lincoln was brutalized. Reagan was brutalized. Nobody’s been brutalized more than Donald Trump. But I only bring this to your attention because the left in the media, the Democrat Party, the never Trump is they want you to believe. They thought Lincoln was great looking back and they thought Reagan was great. But Trump, you see, is different the way he tweets, the way he talks. We’ve never had a president like this before. Really. They called Lincoln a gorilla. Then they called Reagan all kinds of names and so forth. They want you to believe their treatment of Trump is different because Trump is different. No, their treatment of Trump is vile. It’s poisonous. It’s been abusive way over the top. Because he dared to win the presidency. And he has dared to be a great president, in my view. That is why they’re brutalizing him. That is why they’re protecting Joe Biden from his racist past, from his corruption. And his mental difficulties. That is why they’re doing all these things. It’s not so much that Trump tweets again. There was no tweeting when Reagan was president, certainly no tweeting when Abraham Lincoln was president. They hate successful Republican presidents. They hate them. They brutalize them. They attack them. And in the case of Donald Trump, they’ve doubled and tripled down. So it’s important that you understand this. So when you have a neighbor or friend who says, hey, you know, it’s. I just can’t put, you know, take the way Trump does what he does. They’re suckers. They’re suckers. They’re falling for what the left does every single time. I’ll be right back.

Hour 1 Segment 2

I want to talk briefly to you about your constitution. And your judiciary. The Supreme Court. Article 3 of the Constitution wasn’t that long ago when all political parties and people of all philosophies agreed that the Supreme Court needed to be independent. That was certainly the view of the framers of the Constitution. Our justices aren’t elected. They decided they should serve for life, so they would be not so much disconnected from politics. But they wouldn’t be in the fray. This has all changed now. Long before long before the president nominated Amy Kony Barrett for the Supreme Court. Long before she was confirmed by the Senate. Sworn in by the president and then officially sworn in by the chief. The Supreme Court chief. The Democrats were talking about packing the court. You may recall that the Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer, threatened several justices if they didn’t rule the right way from his perspective on docket. The senator from Rhode Island. White House also threatened the court if they didn’t rule the right way, who potential packing? The mob in the streets. The arsonists in the streets. The looters in the streets. Are in the Senate and in the House. Just that they’re dressed up. And they don’t throw Molotov cocktails. They’re actually far more dangerous than the rioters and the looters and the arsonists in the street. Because they are telling us if they’re in the majority, a simple majority. Even just one Congress, they intend to change forever. Our constitutional construct and make it impossible for future Congresses to change it back. Because they intend to pack the Senate and change the filibuster rule and then pack. The Supreme Court. They will control the legislative process. They will control all legislation. They will control the court. They will control everything. There will be no way back. I mean, short of overthrowing the government, and I’m not certainly recommending that, but that’s certainly what the left recommends. But this is the enemy within. These are saboteurs. The Democrats are saying this to get their base all worked up. But the issue beyond that is their base is. What’s represented? That is, Schumer is the base as despicable and as liberal as Schumer is, he’s moved hard left. He’s AOC in a suit. The entire party has moved hard left. The Marxist wing of the Democrat Party is won out. It used to be that the media. Was a collective voice. In defense of the constitutional system, that the media was a collective voice in defense of the courts, especially the Supreme Court. Not anymore. Because the media have thrown in with the mob, the media lead the mob, the media celebrate the mob. The media are the mob. And they agree with the NS. So the means are of no consequence. They agree with the ends, they agree with this. The progressives, the Marxists of America, that the Constitution is too confining. That the Constitution does not allow. For the kind of centralized government control and management. That the left is promoting. The media keep lying to the American people, they keep saying, well, now it’s 6 to 3 conservatives on the court. John Roberts is a wildcard in some matters, so is Gore such an so cabinet? There’s really only two justices who are consistently compliant with and faithful to the Constitution, and that would be Thomas and Alito. And now perhaps a third and Bharat. Even the nomenklatura conservative justices. They use a political term or a cultural term to define. What the constitutionalists are, they’re not conservatives. You don’t interpret the Constitution conservative or liberally either interpret it as it’s intended or as best as you can discern. Or you don’t. You don’t apply political terms. To the constitutionalists. Not a single constitutionalist judge who would ever say I’m a conservative judge. It means nothing to say. What does that mean? I’m an originalist and a constitutionalist, I’m an originalist in that I attempt to interpret the text based on the public, meaning that the framers had at the time. And I’m a constitutionalist in that I don’t seek. To treat the Constitution as a living and breathing document, I seek to treat the Constitution as the highest law governing law in the land. I want to continue with this because if anybody is on the fence, they’re still thinking about voting for Biden and the Democrats. They need to understand that they are voting for the permanent dissolution of our constitutional system. I’ll be right back.

Hour 1 Segment 3

The Democrats, and that would include Biden, are not only interested in structurally destroying our constitutional system by burning down effectively the Supreme Court burning down the Senate. Change the legislative process so the Democrat Party will actually own and now control our judiciary, the Senate and the legislative process. One party rule. I want to remind you that they’ve attacked the Bill of Rights on repeated occasions, including the First Amendment. When 54 of them voted to repeal the First Amendment. Effectively repeal the First Amendment because they didn’t believe that you should have the right to support commercials. Called advocacy commercials that advocate a particular viewpoint. So they literally wanted to pass a constitutional amendment. To limit your free speech rights also in the First Amendment. They do not respect. Religious freedom. And they believe they can make laws that impede religious freedom, so religious organizations did not want to participate in Obamacare. Because morally, they didn’t want to pay for abortions. The Democrats, the Obama Biden administration fought. To compel them to do just that. Freedom of assembly and association, you’ve seen how the Democrats view that Cuomo with the Jews in Brooklyn. But they’re not the only ones and he’s not the only one. Michigan, New Jersey, Illinois, California. Freedom of assembly. It’s right there in the First Amendment. And the Democrats attack it. The Bill of Rights. The Second Amendment. Endless, endless efforts. To eliminate the right of the individual to keep him bear arms. Endless efforts. The war on the First Amendment, the war on the Second Amendment. And also a war on due process. Crucial. Due process. Do you remember when? The Democrats argued that if you’re put on the no fly list just under a suspicion, no evidence whatsoever, you’re put on that list under a suspicion. Then you should be denied the right to purchase a firearm. Burning up the Fifth Amendment. No one can be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process. And remember what I said about targeting free speech? They disdain the Bill of Rights. Ninth Amendment to them doesn’t exist, Tenth Amendment to them only exists if they can use it. To nullify federal law that they that they reject, otherwise they don’t even believe in federalism. So the Democrats have been at war. With the Bill of Rights. Now they want to change Article 3. Now they want to change article to. Now they want to change the legislative process. And the irony in all this is they don’t even believe in the Constitution. They don’t even believe in the Constitution. How often have their surrogates in Black Lives Matter and other organizations said that the framers were slave holders, therefore what they created is of no merit. So they use the constitution to destroy the Constitution. They use the Bill of Rights to destroy the Bill of Rights. The very people who are rioting in the streets, claiming that they have a First Amendment right to be protected, don’t even believe in the Constitution. In the first place. And why should you be surprised? The entire progressive movement. Is. A result of Marxism. The entire progressive movement. I dated back as far as I can, dated back as in the late 18th, 60s. But it got a head of steam in the late eighteen hundreds, in the early nineteen hundreds, and it hasn’t stopped since. Every so-called leading intellectual of the progressive movement from the late eighteen hundreds to this day. Writes and argues that the Declaration of Independence and all this talk about natural law and individual unalienable rights. And the Constitution of the United States. This governing law that they gave us that they they insist, has to be imposed on us for the rest of time. Must be eviscerated or must be overcome. If we were to advance. A modern progressive society, that is. Some form of Marxism, they call it democratic socialism. They must destroy the barriers that are in front of them. Because they don’t believe in the limits of government. They believe that their ideology should rule. They have used the Democrat Party as. As the vessel through which politically they intend to operate. You know, pivots and cloud. Clouds now dead, but as white pigeons are still with us, they argued that the Democrat Party needs to be basically taken over. That needs to be the funnel through which radicalism, Marxism can operate. And that’s what they’re doing. So that’s what this election’s about. You know, the Democrats like to say everything’s on the table under our constitutional system, everything is not supposed to be on the table. It’s just one election. One election. The results of that election are not supposed to be a determinant. What kind of nation we’re going to live in, there may be debates over policy and so forth, but not whether or not the entire constitutional republic is up for election. But it is. It is. The power hungry Democrats who’ve been radicalized. I have no intention of slowing down. I have no intention of negotiate. They look for excuses. Like the confirmation of a new justice. As a basis to seize power. Or it’s race where it’s climate change or whatever it is. The wealth gap. Whatever it is, they use excuses or fig leaves. In order to advance their cause and to grab power, the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party today. Is saying. If we’re in the majority. We’re going to take control as a party. The United States Supreme Court. We’re going to take control as a party of the United States Senate. We’re going to take control as a party of the electoral process and eliminate the Electoral College and give power to our constituent groups, to give power to our voters and disenfranchise those who are unlikely to support us. So the voting system will be owned by the Democrat Party. The judiciary will be owned by the Democrat Party. The Senate will be owned by the Democrat Party. The legislative process will be owned by the Democrat Party. As I’ve told you for years. Because for them, the Democrat Party comes first. Much like in China, where the Communist Party comes first. Much like in Iran with the Islam or Nazi Party comes first. The party is the society. The party is that government. And you’re seeing the quote unquote, fundamental transformation from a constitutional republic. To a Democrat Party tyranny. That’s what you’re witnessing. That’s what’s in front of you. And that’s what’s at stake. And they will limit your free rate, your free speech rights to protest. They will limit your right to gather and assemble. They will limit your religious liberty because they want to impose their ideology. They want to limit your right to a Second Amendment. Noda to quell any any protest. They will limit your due process rights under the Fifth Amendment. This is what they are prepared to do. And the media, their day will come. As long as they toe the line. As long as these new rules newsrooms owned by these massive international corporations. Continue to acquiesce. Or even better. Continue to propagandize on behalf on behalf of this party, the Democrat Party. They will be left alone. But when they fail. They will be treated like Fox News. They will be treated like conservative talk radio. They’ll be treated like conservative media outlets. They’ll be threatened from time to time. That’s what’s at stake. Whether we have a republic. We leave to our children and our grandchildren or whether the Democrat Party. Now owns the federal government. And everything that flows from that. I’ll be right back.

Hour 1 Segment 4

Now, I know it’s only Tuesday, but I want to tell you about a special. Broadcasting matter, life, Liberty and Levin will not air this coming Sunday. Fox’s programming will consist of the usual Monday schedule of programs. On Sunday, however. My new Life, Liberty and Levin will air on Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. And my guests will be me. This is the last Life, Liberty and Levin before this. Incredibly crucial election. So I have decided. That I will do it myself. I’ve done it once or twice in the past. I’ve had wonderful guests, but there’s really, to me, no guest who can say what I need to say. Days before this this historic election. So you will see a unique Life, Liberty and Levin. I will be sitting in the studio. Behind my copy of the Resolute Desk and for the entire hour, I will be speaking to you directly. Levin ites patriots, because we’re all in this together. We’re all in this together. And I will be talking about patriotism. And we’ll be talking about American history. I will be talking about Abraham Lincoln. I’ll be talking about Ronald Reagan. But most of all, I’ll be talking about. President Donald Trump. And why it is so crucial. That we carry him on our shoulders to victory. Not only to defeat. The tyrannical Democrats. But to re-elect a president who deserves our support. For so many of the things he’s done. Donald Trump is a fighter. That’s another major part of his character that the left in the meeting, the Democrats absolutely hate. There is a fighter. He won’t bow down to them. He won’t take a need to them. He won’t do it. He won’t be crushed by the left wing media. He won’t be crushed by the academics. He won’t be crushed by Hollywood. He won’t be crushed by more billionaires who are lined up. To try and take him out, he will not accept. Appeasement or surrender? And they’ve done everything they can to force him to back down and knee and take a knee and he won’t do it. He won’t do it. Against all odds, he has faced our criminal justice system. Or I should say, criminal injustice system or injustice system. He has faced the fangs of evil Pelosi and impeachment. He has faced the illegal espionage of the FBI and our intelligence agencies. His face endless character assassination in the form of phony news stories, and he has not bowed to them and he has not taken a knee. Instead, he’s running for re-election. The least we can do. Is ensure that he’s re-elected. The least we can do is show up and vote, the least we can do. It’s encourage and make sure 5 that 10 of our family members are friends. Our co-workers, our neighbors. Get out and vote. If he can put everything on the line. If the men and the women, women in the military can put everything on the line. If the men and women in blue can put everything on the line, that by God. We can vote in numbers like they’ve never seen before. We need to show up and mass. An army of patriots. An army of American loving citizens, we need to show them that we will not leave our president on the battlefield alone, that we will step up and do what our ancestors have done and vote. If she can vote early and in person, do it. But whatever you do, vote and bring people with you. I’ll be right back.
