Some RINOs are arguing that the president should not act to fill the Supreme Court vacancy because it’ll cause Biden to win, and then the Democrats will expand and pack the Court and kill the filibuster rule. I guess they haven’t been paying much attention to what the Democrats have been saying for some time — that is, if they win the Senate, they will kill the filibuster rule and pack the Court. I can think of no president who has chosen not to nominate a candidate to the Supreme Court when a vacancy occurs, regardless of when that vacancy occurs. Whether the Senate confirms or not is a wholly separate issue. But for a Republican president not to try to fill a vacancy with a Republican Senate (despite some weakness among certain senators) is, irrational. The Democrats have not and would never do such a thing.
