As predicted, the WSJ editorial writers, several of whom also appeared on Fox today, are trashing the Freedom Caucus, just as they’ve trashed the Tea Party in the past. These circle nerds are not a particularly bright bunch, as they front for crony capitalists and GOP establishment, and abandon free market capitalism and federalism. No one said there had to be a bill only acceptable to conservatives, or purists, or whatever they call constitutional conservatives these days. But this bill was disastrous as it was built on Obamacare’s government-centric foundation and did precious little to expand competition and choice, and drive down the price of policies and deductibles. In fact, it created new entitlements, including through Medicaid and so-called tax credits for individuals and families who don’t pay enough to get credits (this used to be called welfare). The GOP promised to repeat Obamacare, not pretend to repeal it. The WSJ editorial page lost its credibility long ago.
