FACT: Reagan never endorsed Gerald Ford at any time during the 1976 GOP convention or campaign. The Reagans were furious at how the Ford campaign had attacked them. Paul Manafort will know this as he was a top delegate counter for Ford and against Reagan at that convention. Ford won the nomination, of course, then lost to Jimmy Carter. Four years later, Reagan won the nomination, won the general election in a landslide, and the rest is history.
