These tariffs on allies = lost American jobs in unprotected economic segments, higher prices on all related goods for all Americans (tariffs are taxes that drive up costs), more revenue for the federal bureaucracy (the government treasury collects the tariffs, aka taxes, paid by the American people), inflationary pressure, etc. This is crony capitalism that empowers the federal government, which is why Bernie Sanders and his ilk embraces it.
