On Monday’s Mark Levin show, There is no such thing as free trade but the goal is to have freer trade. There are always taxes and regulations on trade, but a tariff on steel, aluminum, and lumber won’t punish the Chinese, only the American citizens. China wants the U.S. to put tariffs on steel because they’ll sell cheap steel to our trade partners around the world; we’d be handing them our steel market. Protectionists wrap tariffs up in patriotism when it’s the opposite, and at its root is a lack of understanding of liberty and capitalism. We have a history of tariffs, and when we have across-the-board tariffs we put people out of work in this country. We should be very skeptical when people have simple answers to a complex economy. Also, if we had a responsible deputy attorney general, the investigation into President Trump’s collusion would stop. There’s no way the Framers would have empowered an inferior officer of the government, who is unaccountable to the President or Congress, to be free to go through the background of the President and his family in search of a crime. We’ve reached a point where Robert Mueller and Rod Rosenstein are literally undermining the country. Meanwhile, police in Israel have unleashed investigations on Benjamin Netanyahu similar to the special council on Trump. Leftists are leftists, whether they’re in the U.S. or Israel; they have the same progressive mentality. Finally, Chip Roy calls in to discuss his campaign for the 21st Texas congressional district; the primary is Tuesday. He can be the next great conservative voice!
