If you’d like to see the display of George Washington’s hand-written account of the lease terms for Mount Vernon before Washington became its owner it will be open to the public from March 23, 2015 through September 21, 2015 in the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center in the Gilder Lehrman Book and Manuscript Gallery. I acquired the document several months ago so it could be put on public display. Therefore, it is on loan to Mount Vernon for 3 years, but on public display the next 6 months. It is fascinating and I hope you have a chance to check it out with your family!
